This wiki is about the story of how the world got to be the way it is.

We don't try to cover everything. We pick out the events, ideas, and people that actually mattered, and explain why they mattered.

Take Karl Marx as an example. We don't care where he was born or what his childhood was like. You can read that on Wikipedia. What we care about is what he actually thought, why he thought it, and what happened because of it.

Same with ideas. Each idea gets its own page. The page says what the idea actually is, why it mattered, and what it connects to. We don't go deep into every detail or argument. Just enough to understand the idea and see how it fits into the bigger picture.

We assume you already know the basics of history and the world. We're not trying to teach you from scratch. This is for someone who's curious and wants the big picture, not someone doing deep research. If you want that kind of depth, Wikipedia and other sources are a click away — we'll link to them when it's useful.

Think of this less like an encyclopedia and more like a set of notes on what actually matters and why.
